What we believe
The first photograph of a building is a kind of lie. It is taken on the day everything is still new, before the doorway has softened, before light has learned the room. The building is at its most articulate, but not its most honest.
We design for the second decade. For the way the brass handle warms. For the way the timber breathes. For the joints that loosen by a hair and never tell anyone. For the small failures that, given attention, become the small graces of a place.
How we work
We are a small studio. By design. Every project is run by a partner, not delegated. We listen first — to climate, to site, to the rhythms of the people we are designing for. We draw slowly. We build closely.
And then — perhaps unusually — we stay. We return after handover. We adjust. We watch the building become a home.
